Eyes and Arms of Smoke are: Trevor Tremaine, Ellen MollĂ©, Sara O’Keefe and Robert Beatty.
From Nicholasville, KY, Eyes and Arms of Smoke began as a project of Trevor Tremaine, who compiles vast influences in a unique songwriting style. Joined by MollĂ©’s viola and O’Keefe’s clarinet, the group is rounded out by Beatty’s synthesizer, percussion and other little instruments. Their earlier releases showcase the improvised, atmospheric elements of Eyes and Arms of Smoke, but A Religion of Broken Bones is focused more on the songwriting, with lyrics providing a hazy foundation for each musical gesture.
